Q. How do I join a group?

A. It's easy! Create your own by calling your friends, or call your local library, civic organization or community group to let them know of your interest. The person taking charge is called the Group Leader. That person just has to call us at the Toll-free number 1-888-281-7071. We'll then lead the way to a new tour adventure that gives you what you want. Special discounts are given to Group Leaders and Tour Operators.

A. If you're alone or with a few friends, who signed up for a group tour, call us Toll Free. We'll direct you by car or train to the designated pick-up spot for the tour requested. If you're with a group, you could get here a number of ways:

• Cars, Vans - Park at LIE Exit 49N. You will be picked up by a Motor Coach, unless you bring your own. In that case, a step-on guide will join you at that park-and-drive lot. Call for directions to Long Island and the LIE, or check it out on a website. The LI Convention/Visitor Bureau is recommended: www.licvb.com . Be sure to request a free Long Island Travel Guide.

• Motor Coach - see paragraph above.

• Train - Use the LIRR at Penn Station. Take the train to Babylon, where a Motor Coach will pick you up.

• Air - If possible fly into the airport at Islip. It's more convenient and user friendly. Otherwise, go to JFK. Call us and we will arrange for you to be picked up.

A. There's a long list of things to see and do. The LI Travel Guide lists most of them, and shows you their locations with a beautiful pull-out map of Long Island. Winery tours, fishing, boating, golf, horse races, sports, beaches, parks, museums, homes of the rich and famous, entertainment, theatre, America's 1st cowboy ranch and garden tours are some examples of side attractions.

A. Absolutely. Our friendly tour guides are lighthouse enthusiasts. Depending upon the trip, your tour guide may be a past president of a lighthouse preservation society, a lighthouse author, a staff member at a lighthouse museum or other similarly qualified individual. We know the lighthouses you will be visiting and by the end of your trip, so will you.

Q. How do I get on your mailing list?

A. The best way to get mailings periodically with advance notice of new tours is to become a member of LILS, Inc. Cost is only $15 ($25/family) ,  which covers postage, a complimentary gift,  and special services throughout the year. Memberships begin the first day of payment and last a full year.
